PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple vertical steel expansion device the durability of which is improved, and which prevents the occurrence of corner chipping at a concrete or mortar portion.;SOLUTION: Corrugated vertical steel plates 11A and 11B are fixed to recess forming portions 14A and 14B which are arranged at ends of floor slabs 13A and 13B facing each other across an expansion gap 12 via anchor members 15A-18A and 15B-18B, respectively. A leakage preventing sealing member 22 is erected on mutually opposed surfaces (external surfaces) of the vertical steel plates 11A and 11B, and upper edges of the vertical steel plates 11A and 11B are covered with covers molded integrally with the sealing member 22. Each cover has with an extension portion extending along a road surface toward each of concrete portions 19A and 19B, and the lower surface of the extension portion is tapered, and a corner of each of the concrete portions 19A and 19B is chamfered, to thereby prevent the corner chipping.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
