PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin sorter or the like having a simple structure, which can sort coins by using the outer shape of the coins, in a method different from that of conventional coin sorters.;SOLUTION: A cradle-type coin selector 10 comprises: a sorting gearwheel 44 contacting with the circumferential surface of the coins; a coin locking part 46 arranged with a predetermined space from the sorting gearwheel 44; and a forcing means 47 for forcing the coin locking part 46, and these members are attached in a cradle 48. When the coins are accepted between the sorting gearwheel 44 and the coin locking part 46, coins having notches in the circumferential surface gear with the sorting gearwheel 44, the coins are moved downward by the sorting gearwheel 44, pass through between the coin locking part 46 and the gearwheel 44, and drop to a first intermediate coin sorting path 3F. Coins having notches of a shape different from that of the coins in the circumferential surface, or coins without notches do not gear with the sorting gearwheel 44, remain between the coin locking part 46 and the sorting gearwheel 44, and drop to a second intermediate coin sorting path 3G when the cradle 48 rocks.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
