Cyclamen tuber production method, liquid medium used in this method, and cyclamen seedling production method

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyclamen tubers, by which cyclamen tubers that are directly planted in culture soil and germinated are produced without requiring more labor for cutting off leaf and stem parts and root parts of young plant bodies. PSOLUTION: The cyclamen tubers are produced by inducing calluses from tissue of cyclamen, culturing the calluses in a liquid medium exhibiting 220-750 mOsm osmotic pressure to induce the cyclamen tubers and enlarging the cyclamen tubers. Consequently, the cyclamen tubers enlarged into spherical shapes having 4-8 mm diameters are obtained. The cyclamen tubers are directly planted in culture soil, germinated and grown to simply produce a large amount of cyclamen seedlings without acclimation. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
