PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that much labor is required for curved surface finishing of a broken-out section in a conventional way, which leads to high cost.;SOLUTION: An apparatus for treating the broken-out section of a pin tail of a torque shear type high strength bolt is provided with a holder which can be fitted on an outer periphery of a nut tightened by the torque shear type high strength bolt, and a treatment tool which can be attached to and detached from a mounting part of a rotary driving body and rotates inside the holder. The holder and the treatment tool are provided so that when a distal end side of the holder is fitted on the outer periphery of the nut, the treatment tool is contacted on the broken-out section or positioned behind the broken-out section. In this case, the holder fitted on the nut is not rotated or is idly turned even when the treatment tool is rotated. A through hole for penetrating a rotary shaft of the treatment tool or an insertion hole for inserting a mounting part side of the rotary driving body may be provided in a rear side of the holder. Also, a checking window or/and an exhaust port for discharging abrasive powder generated during polishing out of the holder may be formed in the rear side of the holder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
