PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coupling accessories to crankshafts of engines that can set crankshafts in their usable state together with accessories and is so simple as to be incorporated in crankshaft manufacturing processes without posing no substantial increases in the manufacturing cost, and an engine having a crankshaft with accessories coupled directly thereto.;SOLUTION: A mechanism for coupling accessories such as oil pumps o engine crankshafts 10 are so constituted that an end 14 of each crankshaft 10 is formed into a cylindrical spigot, on which an individual steel sleeve 16 with splines 18 is interference-fitted under pressure, against any cost increase by splining of the crankshaft 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
