PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical speech recognition system combining articulatory motion data and acoustic data.;SOLUTION: The method of preparing an HMM (hidden Markov model) includes a step 200 of initializing the HMM to a previously defined initial state, and a step of preparing training data including the articulatory motion data and acoustic data of speech. The training data are labeled in a corresponding phoneme state. The method further includes steps 202, 204, 206 and 208 for training the HMM by the training data according to the predetermined HMM/BN (Beyey's network) model.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
