PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop treatment method for an electric wire wherein water stop agent is filled in the electric wire so that an adequate amount of water stop agent can be surely supplied to a water stop treatment part.;SOLUTION: The water stop agent 13 is supplied to the terminal of the electric wire 11, and the level of a liquid surface 25 of the water stop agent 13 is detected by a permeable fiber sensor 15. When the detected level of the liquid surface is a first level (the level of a lower limit liquid surface 26) or lower, the supply of the water stop agent 13 is started, and when the level of the liquid surface is a second level (the level of an upper limit liquid surface 27) or higher, the supply of the water stop agent 13 is stopped. When a time for the level of the liquid surface to lower from the second level down to the first level is not shorter than a predetermined time, water stop treatment is completed. When a time for the level of the liquid surface of the water stop agent 13 to lower down to the first level is shorter than the predetermined time, a failure is detected.
