PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bush-assembling method of an arm assembly of a valve timing variable device so that a bush can be assembled effectively and securely into a peripheral groove in the normal direction.;SOLUTION: Each bush is mounted on a bush holding tool 23 by engaging a bush-pin-engagement hole with a bush pin. This means guarantees an orientation of a bush assembling.Also, the bush holding tool 23 is inserted into the support pipe insertion hole 30 of each arm assembly 1 supported by an arm assembly holding tool 22, and each bush 11 of the bush holding tool 23 is placed directly above the bottom of each peripheral groove of each arm assembly 1.In this state, each bush 11 is mounted on each peripheral groove 7 of each arm assembly 1 by means of a bush pressing tool 25.
