PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brazing filler metal, in brazing for a heat exchanger using a B type tube, capable of reducing a defect of brazing in the joint between the tube and a plate, and to provide an aluminum alloy brazing sheet.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for producing an aluminum alloy brazing filler metal, when an aluminum alloy brazing filler metal having a composition comprising, by mass, 6 to 13% Si and 0.05 to 0.5% Fe, and further comprising one or more selected from 0.1 to 1.0% Ti and 0.1 to 1.0% Zr, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities is produced, the ingot of the brazing filler metal is subjected to homogenizing treatment at ≥300°C.
