PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Young's modulus calculation, analysis and calibration method utilizing an instrumented indentation test.;SOLUTION: When executing the instrumented indentation test, √At (At is a contact area) shown by the formula 1 is determined as √At=f(hr) in the whole test load area, as a single-continuous function of hr which an intersection point with a displacement axis h of a tangent line on an unloading curve of the maximum test load Fmax. Since the function is applied similarly to various test pieces, determination by √At=f(hr) is applicable even when a plurality of test pieces are used. The Young's modulus of the test piece which is an important physical value is calculated simply and quickly in the range of about ±5%, by utilizing the function.
