PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved coating technique of a hard chrome film which is long in service life and is exceptionally outstanding in corrosion preventiveness while mounting sliding characteristics and is particularly suitable for utilization in chemical industry.;SOLUTION: In coating the workpiece of metal with a bearing metal, the workpiece is first cleaned and is then immersed into an electrolytic chrome plating bath, by which the hard chrome coating 2 of at least 600 HV in hardness having a surface 2a of a bead structure form or column structure form is formed. At this time, the surface of the bead structure form or column structure form is packed and smoothed by a layer 3 imparted by electroplating.
