The present invention is directed to a method for assisting evaluation of colorectal cancer (= CRC). The present invention discloses the use of a marker combination comprising a carcinoembryonic antigen and osteopontin in the assessment of colorectal cancer. Furthermore, in particular, by measuring the oncofetal antigens and markers osteopontin at least in a sample, the present invention relates to a method for assessing colorectal cancer from a liquid sample, derived from an individual.
