摘要

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data converter which converts an image imaged through a fisheye lens, etc. into as a wide-angle image as possible, and also converts it into an image which has no distortion of a straight line in directions of a Y axis and a Z axis and few distortion of the straight line in a direction of an X axis, and in which a human being is easy to see. PSOLUTION: A pixel position P (x0, y0) of a display plane 4 is once transformed into a pixel position H (x1, y1, z1) of a correction plane 3, further these coordinates are transformed into polar coordinates K (r2, ϕ2, θ2) of a hemispherical plane of a virtual object plane 2, and finally they are transformed into a pixel position I (x3, y3) of an input image 1. This transformation is calculated in all of the pixel positions P (x0, y0) of the display plane 4, and the calculated result is stored in a memory device (transformation ROM). Further, x0 and y0 are inputted into an address of the transformation ROM, and a pixel of the input image 1 is extracted by use of contents (values of x3 and y3) of output data.
