PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact wear detection system which accurately and simply detects wear of a wearing member such as a rotating throwaway tip in a non-contact state, and also to provide a method for detecting the wear of the rotating throwaway tip, which uses this system, and a milling tool.;SOLUTION: The non-contact wear detection system comprises: a resonant circuit 1 formed of a sensor part 2 composed of a conductive film formed on a worn part, a tuning capacitor 3, and a high frequency coil 4; and a high frequency oscillation type proximity switch 5 including an oscillation coil 6, an oscillation circuit 7 connected to this oscillation coil 6, and a detection circuit 8 detecting oscillation signals from this oscillation circuit 7. The high frequency coil 4 of the resonant circuit 1 and the oscillation coil 6 of the high frequency oscillation type proximity switch 5 are arranged close to each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
