PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a question document summarization device that extracts only sentences showing a question content from a question document. PSOLUTION: The question document summarization device 1 extracts only sentences showing question content from a question document. The question document summarization device 1 comprises a document input part 11 for receiving a question document, a sentence detection part 12 for detecting sentences from the question document, a sentence role assignment part 13 for assigning roles to the sentences according to given rules, a sentence information content calculation part 14 for calculating sentence information contents as the information contents of the sentences, a block detection part 15 for detecting blocks as aggregations of sentences from the question document according to a variation in the sentence information content of every sentence, a block score assignment part 16 for assigning block scores to the sentences in the blocks according to given rules of block properties, a sentence score calculation part 17 for calculating sentence scores showing importance levels of the sentences according to the sentence information contents and block scores, and a sentence output part 18 for outputting only important sentences according to the sentence scores.
