The device has a winglet movably attachable to a wing unit (1), and rotatable in relation to the wing unit, such that an angle between an associated rotary axis (7) and a main direction of extension (6) of the wing unit differs from 90 degree. An aerodynamic fairing unit is arranged between the wing unit and the winglet and/or winglet parts. A suspension unit is provided for attaching the winglet to the wing unit and movable by using a driven spindle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for adapting aerodynamic characteristics of a wing unit (2) a locomotion device comprising an adaption device.
