A fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet which can be produced at low cost by a method in which a thermoplastic resin is easily infiltrated into reinforcing fiber bundles and the alignment of the reinforcing fibers is not disordered a structural material comprising the sheet and a process for producing the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet. The fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet is obtained by: superposing a nonwoven thermoplastic resin fabric obtained by forming thermoplastic resin fibers into a fabric in a nonwoven state on a reinforcement fiber sheet obtained by arranging reinforcing fiber bundles in parallel with each other in one direction and pressing the assemblage with heating to melt the nonwoven thermoplastic resin fabric and infiltrate the thermoplastic resin into the reinforcing fiber bundles to thereby form a prepreg in which the thermoplastic resin has been approximately evenly infiltrated into the reinforcing fiber bundles. This fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet is cut into narrow tapes and the resultant narrow fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheets are subjected to weaving, knitting, or braiding to constitute a structural woven material, structural knit material, or structural braid material.
