PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a claw pole permanent magnet type stepping motor which can be built in or attached to a device where there is limitation on the peripheral dimension of a case body and can dissolve trouble in a magnetic path accompanying its flattening without magnetic flux leaked to outside, and besides whose case body can be manufactured highly accurately and easily.;SOLUTION: This stepping motor is equipped with a pair of case bodies made of magnetic material, which axially supports a rotating shaft that has a permanent magnet magnetized into a multipole, and an A-phase inductor and a B-phase inductor which are constituted of claw poles which are built in symmetrically and on which coils are wound. The sectional form of the case body is a roughly oval which has circular curved surfaces 12b being formed continuously from flat sidewalls 12a facing each other, and the clearance between the inner flank of the case body and the external face of the inductor is smallest at the midsection of the flat sidewall 12a, and the thickness of the flat sidewall 12a, at least, at the midsection is made smaller than that of the circular curve 12b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
