PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process control system and method which can unitedly perform reliability evaluation and process control. SOLUTION: The system is equipped with a periodic inspection process control means having a process property editing part capable of inputting and editing properties of a process, a process display part graphically displaying the process along the time base, a reliability evaluation support means having a basic event probability distribution generation part generating the occurrence probability of basic events and a peak event occurrence probability calculation part which calculates an occurrence probability density function of peak events, and an additional means having a matching part which compares data of the basic event probability editing part and process property editing part, a property and probability conversion part which converts probability data or basic event names in order to obtain the probability that mutually matching events of the compared data are consistent to each other, a threshold-matching probability comparison part which compares the calculated probability with a threshold and reflects the result on a process display part 7, and an importance analytic comparison part which reflects the results of an importance analyzing part in the decreasing order of influence.
