Policing method for data traffic, data traffic policer, and a communication network including such a data traffic policer realizing such a method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rate of non-adaptive data cells which are distributed in a network for improving use of network resources by a data traffic policing device. ;SOLUTION: The data traffic includes data cells which are grouped into frames (F1, F2, F3). This method includes a step which checks conformity for each data cell of the frame (F2) when the data cells are received, a step which gives conformability result of data cells which are 'conforming' or 'non-conforming' (F/T), a step which stores the data cells in a buffer(BUFF), a step which processes the frame of each data cells as a 'conforming' frame when adaptivability result is 'conforming' (F) and a step which starts the transmission of a previously defined number of data cells of the frame by the traffic policing device (POL) when the previously defined number of the data cells of the frame (F2) are received.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
