PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode fluorescent lamp superior in sputtering resistance and manufacturability and economical, and a manufacturing method of an electrode for the cold cathode fluorescent lamp.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp comprises processes (S1, S2) to form a cylindrical body with one end closed and the other end open from a material which has nickel or nickel alloy as a base material and in which at least any of titanium, manganese, zirconium, or hafnium is added, a process (S3) to carbonize the cylindrical body, and a process (S5) to seal airtightly a pair of the cylindrical bodies carbonized into a glass tube of which in the inner space at least rare gas and mercury gas are sealed and a phosphor layer is formed on the inner wall, as a cylindrical electrode so that the openings may be opposed to each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
