SOLUTION: The information generating method of this invention includes the steps of; selecting a display pattern of a reproduced image depending on the number of display devices in the case of applying edit to still picture information recorded and reproducing the recorded still picture information displayed on a plurality of the display devices synchronously with moving picture/audio information from a moving picture/audio input device so as to reproduce and display a plurality of the still picture information items on the same screen at the same time, and reproducing the still picture information displayed in a display pattern with magnification by instructing an icon displayed in the display pattern. Since a user can grasp when, from which display device and by what file name the still picture information is displayed in time series according to a reproduction management list, all of the still picture information is fitted without missing to split display screens and can be displayed. Since the still picture information displayed on the display screen can be displayed with magnification by having only to point out one of the still picture information displayed on the display screen, the contents can easily be viewed and the visibility can be enhanced.
