PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-free and preferably arsenic-free optical glass having a refractive index n_d of 1.84≤n_d≤1.96 and an Abbe's number ν_d of 27≤ν_d≤36, which is applied to imaging, projection, telecommunication, optical communication and/or laser technology and good in melting and processing property.;SOLUTION: The lead-free optical glass, which has the refractive index n_d of 1.84≤n_d≤1.96 and the Abbe's number ν_d of 27≤ν_d≤36, is composed of SiO₂ of 1-8, B₂O₃ of 13-19.5, La₂O₃ of 34-50, MgO of 0-6, CaO of 0-6, BaO of 0-6, ZnO of 0-9, MO total (MgO, CaO, BaO, ZnO) of 1-10, TiO₂ of 4-15, ZrO₂ of 0-11, and Nb₂O₅ of 6-14.5 (in wt.% in terms of oxide).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
