PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a GPS-equipped portable information communication apparatus, such as a portable telephone and a PHS, which are palm-sized or smaller, to be used for car navigation and to enable a driver to operate the apparatus and read a map image by himself.;SOLUTION: The portable information communication apparatus includes: a radio communication means for receiving a GPS signal, a storage means in which programs and data files are stored, a data processing means for generating a digital display signal of a self-position map image by processing the GPS signal and map information data based on the programs and a display means for displaying the self-position map image based on the digital display signal.
