PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily producing a white aluminum hydroxide having a high degree of whiteness.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the white aluminum hydroxide comprises a step of heating a mixture obtained by mixing a crude aluminum hydroxide with an alkaline solution to dissolve 10-90 mass% crude aluminum hydroxide based on the crude aluminum hydroxide used and to obtain a slurry containing a solid of aluminum hydroxide and a step of cooling the slurry to precipitate an aluminum hydroxide. The mixture is usually heated to ≥80°C. By this method, the objective white aluminum hydroxide whose sodium content is ≤25 mass% (expressed in terms of oxide (Na₂O)) is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
