PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for driving an EL display panel which increase an aperture ratio of the EL panel and simultaneously convert a current supplied from the outside into a voltage to drive the EL panel and a method for manufacturing an EL display device.;SOLUTION: The apparatus for driving the EL display panel comprises the EL display panel which is formed with EL light emitting cells at the intersection of a gate line and a data line, a current generating circuit which generates the current corresponding to the digital data supplied from the outside, a data driver which samples the current supplied from the current generating circuit in one horizontal unit, generates the data voltage corresponding to the current and supplies the data voltage to the data line, and a timing controller which supplies the digital data to the current generating circuit simultaneously with controlling of the data driver to generate a sampling control signal for controlling the data driver and supplies the signal to the data driver.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
