PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information in response to a novelty search tendency of a user.;SOLUTION: A novelty searching tendency extracting part 4 extracts the novelty search tendency, based on information from an input part 1. A search area regulating part 5 regulates a search-objective area out of classified preference information, based on the extracted novelty search tendency. A retrieving part 2 retrieves the information required by the user from a search-objective area regulated by the search area regulating part 5. An output part 3 outputs a retrieved result. The information retrieved from the search-objective area widened compared with an interest area is provided to the user having the high novelty search tendency, by this manner, and the information retrieved from the interest area is provided to the user having the low novelty search tendency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
