PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitored video image monitoring system which does not miss the position of a monitored object even if a camera video image is automatically switched according to the movement of the monitored object, in a monitoring system for tracing the monitored object with a plurality of monitoring cameras.;SOLUTION: The system is provided with a movement direction detecting means for detecting the movement direction of the monitored object, a map information storage means for storing a path configuration in a monitoring area, a camera installation position storage means for storing camera installing information, a camera selecting means for specifying a camera for subsequently photographing the monitored object from the movement direction information, path configuration information and camera installation information, and a screen compositing means for compositing the video image of a camera being photographing the monitored object with the camera video image selected by the camera selecting means.
