PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a heterotropic bone and/or marrow in the liver of a matured individual. PSOLUTION: A nonhuman animal deficient in a poly(ADP-ribose) synthase (Parp-1) activity is treated with a DNA injuring agent to thereby induce the formation of the heterotropic bone and/or marrow in the liver of the nonhuman animal.
