Acyl CoA oxidase, its gene, recombinant DNA, and method for producing acyl CoA oxidase

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acyl CoA oxidase usable in various applications, especially clinical diagnoses, and highly stable to SH reagent.;SOLUTION: The acyl CoA oxidase is an enzyme having the following property(1): exhibiting 40% residual activity after treated at pH7.5 at 37C for 4 h. in the presence of 10 mM SH reagent. Another version of the acyl CoA oxidase has the following property(2): exhibiting 60% residual activity after treated at pH7.5 at 37C for 4 h. in the presence of 10 mM SH reagent. (3) Either of the above acyl CoA oxidases is the following: (a) a protein having a specific amino acid sequence or (b) a protein having an amino acid sequence where one or several amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence(a) and having acyl CoA oxidase activity.
