PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide planetarium equipment enabling projection of an auxiliary image which easily and quickly assists description of a star field without requiring enormous volume of astronomical knowledge of an operator.;SOLUTION: The process for projecting auxiliary images flows as follows. First, whether the mode is automatic switching mode or not is decided. When the mode is not automatic switching mode, this process is terminated without any operation. When the mode is automatic switching mode, the position P of an arrow pointer on a dome screen is obtained. Next, to which area the position P of the arrow pointer belongs is determined. Next, the operation screen is changed according to the determination result of the operation; that is, when the area attribute of the arrow pointer is changed, the operation screen is changed into the one corresponding to the area, and when the area attribute of the arrow pointer is not changed, the process is terminated without any further operation.
