PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for tracking a belt disposed on a roller in a photoreceptor device.;SOLUTION: In the edge guide system 16 including a movable belt edge guide 22 interlocked with an encoder 34, a belt end sensor 32, and a belt aperture part sensor 28 for sensing an aperture part 30 on the surface of the belt 10, the contour of the end of the belt 10 is detected as the function of the belt position on rollers 12 and 14. By driving the edge guide system 16 by using the encoder 34 and the sensor 28, the outside shape of the end of the belt 10 is compensated and also the fixed position in a lateral direction of the belt 10 at an optional specified point on the belt 10 is maintained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
