PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a veneer ruling method capable of performing the ruling for each veneer and the mutual alignment of veneers without hindrance in a process for transferring a plurality of veneers in series, and to provide a veneer ruling apparatus.;SOLUTION: Ruling mechanisms G1 and G2 same as veneers 1h×1m to be transferred in number are together provided to a transfer mechanism H in series so as to leave an interval L equal to the length W in the transfer direction of each veneer while a veneer retracting mechanism J for temporarily retracting the preceding veneer 1h from the transfer route of the transfer mechanism H is together provided to the transfer mechanism H.
