PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incubator assembly for in vitro cell growth or tissue culture, which is equipped with a means of changing diffusion rates of gases flowing into or out of the assembly and also with a means of virtually minimizing quantities of biological contaminants flowing into or out of the assembly. ;SOLUTION: This incubator assembly 10 is equipped with a plurality of wells, each having an open end 28 and upright side wall 28 which forms an external plate edge, plate with a handle 50, cover 62 supporting orifices 100 comprising gas-permeable membranes 102 connected to each other, detachable gas-impermeable film, and lid 60 with a lever which meshes with the handle 50.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
