PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight high-strength columnar member which makes manufacturing costs low and which can be easily joined to other members in various kinds of manners, by makes the columnar member composed of a member with three sides obtained by removing one side from the four sides of a rectangle.;SOLUTION: Two first channel metal members 2, the web 4 of which is provided with one outside rib 6 protruding outward, are provided in such an opposed manner that the outside ribs 6 are mutually directed outward; one second channel metal member 3, the web 7 of which is provided with two inside ribs 9 protruding inward, is arranged in a direction orthogonal to a direction wherein the members 2 face each other, in such a manner that the inside rib 9 is directed inward; and a flange 5 of the member 2 and the two inside ribs 9 of the member 3 are joined together by joint means 10 employing a drill screw, a bolt, a rivet, welding, adhesion, etc. In the opposed members 2, the flange 5 on the side of unjoining the member 3 serves as a joining flat part 11 for another joining surface material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
