PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen separating permeable membrane having excellent hydrogen separating and permeating function and high temperature stability of amorphous phase. PSOLUTION: The hydrogen separating permeable membrane is constituted of an amorphous Zr-Ni alloy having a composition which contains 44-75 atomic % of Zr, 0.2-20 atomic% of Nb and 0.1-15 atomic% of P so that the sum total amount of Nb and P is not more than 25 atomic% and also contains Ni (of which the content is 43 atomic% or less) and inevitable impurities as the remainder.
