PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for inexpensively, stably, and accurately carrying out three-dimensional position correction in two-dimensional position detection, three-dimensional position detection, and an automatic optical fiber connection changing device.;SOLUTION: A light shielding body 5 is positioned in a recessed cavity 101 of a photo interrupter 1, the light shielding body 5 is sent in an X direction to a predetermined position, and an output signal of the photo interrupter 1 is turned ON from OFF. Next, the light shielding body 5 is moved in a Z direction (an up direction and a down direction), and a position wherein the output signal of the photo interrupter 1 is turned OFF from ON is detected. Then a center position in the Z direction of the photo interrupter 1 is calculated from positions of both ends of a detected section. Thereafter, the light shielding body 5 is positioned in a center position neighborhood in the Z direction of the photo interrupter 1, the light shielding body 5 is distanced in the X direction, and the output signal of the photo interrupter 1 is turned OFF from ON.
