PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a high-power density power converter using extrinsic parameters, such as main circuit parasitic inductance or parasitic capacitance as parameters.;SOLUTION: In integrated design of a power converter, semiconductor element loss, semiconductor element excess voltage, filter loss and output harmonic voltage serving as indexes in designing a power converter are separated into impact of intrinsic parameter and extrinsic parameter, a database is configured by using the extrinsic parameters having the most impact, when a high power density converter is achieved as parameters, and parameter selection for satisfying target specifications is carried out thus optimizing mechanical design and thermal design of a power converter. According to this design method, development efficiency is enhanced, and development period is shortened by optimizing the behavior of the semiconductor element and the filter and introducing virtual design from initial stage of development.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
