PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which simultaneously performs isomerization and desulfurization of light hydrocarbon oil containing sulfur and which can stably treat hydrocarbon oil with higher sulfur concentration for a long time compared with a conventional catalyst, and to provide a method for manufacturing the catalyst and a hydrodesulfurization and isomerization method by using the catalyst.;SOLUTION: The catalyst is manufactured by the process wherein (1) an alumina mixing step of mixing zirconium hydroxide subjected to sulfuric acid treatment and carrying platinum with a pseudo-boehmite; (2) a molding step of molding the obtained mixture into a catalyst form; (3) a firing step of firing the obtained body to stabilize; and (4) a palladium deposition step of depositing palladium. The obtained hydrodesulfurization and isomerization catalyst contains 0.05 to 5 mass% of Pt and 0.05 to 10 mass% of Pd and has 50 to 200 m²/g specific surface area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
