The film (1) has a polymeric inner layer (2), two adhesive layers (3) and a polymeric core layer (4), where the polymeric core layer (4) is cross-oriented such that the polymer shrinks in a transverse direction. The adhesive layer and the inner layer are compressed on the core layer by heat rolls. The combination of heat and pressure by the heat rolls on the adhesive layer creates a molecular cross-linking and forms a permanent connection between the inner layer, adhesive layer and the core layer to a laminate film.
