Heating method and supplying feed water intended for steam generation in a device, which serves for heating or sterilization of material placed by water steam to its work chamber consists in that for maintaining the sterilization temperature and keeping sufficient pressure reserve of generated steam during supply of feed water and after it, the feed water is supplied to a generator (2) in at least one charge and is simultaneously pre-heated. The device for performing this process comprises the steam generator (2) connected via steam supply piping (3) with the sterilization chamber (1) of the steam sterilizer, to which is further connected a first part (4) of a discharge piping and a discharge valve (5) has a second part (6) of the discharge piping opening in a lower branch (19) of a heat exchanger (8) heating area (7), whereas a third part (9) of the discharge piping is connected to a top branch (18) of the heat exchanger (8) heating area (7). The steam generator (2) is further connected via a heated feed water pipe (10) and a feed water valve (11) with an upper branch (21) of the heat exchanger (8) heated area (12), while a supply piping (13) and a pump (17) are connected to a bottom branch (20) of the heat exchanger (8) heated area (12).
