In the present invention, there is disclosed the use of phthalocyanines, naphthalocyanines, combined phthalo/naphthalocyanines and their aza analogs of the general formula I, wherein the individual substituents have specific meanings, for extinguishing fluorescence after bonding to a biomolecule except for extinguishing fluorescence in-vivo, where the biomolecule can be represented by a nucleic acid or peptide, which can be conjugated with fluorophore. There is further disclosed the use of the above indicated for the detection, quantification of fluorescent-active molecules in a sample of a biological material or tissue. There are also disclosed azaphthalocyanines, aza naphthalocyanines and combined azaphthalo / aza naphthalocyanines of the general formula II, in which the individual substituents have specific meanings, their use for extinguishing fluorescence after bonding to a biomolecule, except for extinguishing fluorescence in-vivo, where the biomolecule can be represented by a nucleic acid or peptide, which can be conjugated with fluorophore, and for the detection, quantification of fluorescent-active molecules in a sample of a biological material or tissue and also in the form of a kit, where the compound of the general formula II is bound to a specific DNA/RNA sequence.
