The present invention relates to a system for instant localized delivery of a selected agent in gastrointestinal tract of an animal, whereas said agent contains: a) a core containing said agent and core material, which swells when exposed to an aqueous fluid; and b) a coating surrounding said core, where said coating has an outer surface, comprises water-insoluble hydrophilic particulate matter embedded in a water-insoluble carrier, where said particulate matter forms channels in said coating when said aqueous fluid is present, said channels run from the outer surface of said coating to said core and serve for absorption of said fluid by said core.
