Methods of treating conditions or disorders in which a reduction in food intake may be beneficial, including administering an effective amount of an endothelin or endothelin agonist, alone or in combination with other compounds or compositions that affect the feeling of fullness. These methods are suitable for the treatment of conditions including obesity, type II diabetes, malnutrition and insulin resistance syndrome. Also described are pharmaceutical compositions used to carry out the methods of the present invention.
