The present invention relates to a method for treating a human patient having a proliferative disorder by administering to the patient an effective amount of a pre-treatment effect before administering an effective amount of a nucleotide-based composition that inhibits overexpression of the target gene causing the proliferative disorder. The present invention includes a preliminary therapeutic effect of one or more types of radiotherapy, such as X-ray, proton beam, electron beam, hyperthermic therapy, ultrasound therapy, chemotherapy and biological therapy. The invention also relates to an improved dosage and sequence of administration of drugs for treating a human patient in need thereof with such a nucleotide-based gene expression inhibitor.
