METHOD FOR SENDING FAX JOB TO THE ASSOCIATED TELEPHONE NUMBER BASED UPON THE SUBNET MASK EXTRACTED FROM THE SOURCE IP ADDRESS

The present invention explains a method for sending a fax job to an associated telephone number. The method includes redirecting of fax to the associated telephone number based on the subnet mask extracted from sender's IP address. After extracting the subnet mask, any telephone number associated with the subnet mask is found. If an associated telephone number exists, the frax job is sent to the associated telephone number along with the user specified destination fax machine. If no associated telephone number exists, the fax job is sent to the user specified destination fax machine. In either of the cases, if there is some problem in delivering the fax message, an error message is reported to the user at the sender's machine
