: The present invention relates to quantitative measurement of substances, preferably antigens, in human serum and/or plasma based on specific solid phase immunoassay techniques. More preferably, the invention relates to measurement of amount of antigens or hapten like small chemical substances, most particularly prostate specific antigen (PSA) based on solid phase immunoassay techniques, which utilizes labeled reagents, like enzyme-labeled reagents for detecting the said antigens or hapten. The present invention more particularly provides a diagnostic kit for the quantitative measurement of PSA in human serum and/or plasma samples for the diagnosis of prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy, or inflammatory conditions of other adjacent genitourinary tissues.
