This invention relates to a novel drug loaded solid lipid nanoparticles wherein the drug retains its property and having enhanced stability with stearic acid and stearylamine as the choice of lipid and lecithin and poloxamer as the choice of the mixture of surfactants, low boiling point solvent ether alone as the choice of organic solvent, which evaporates instantly when it conies in contact with the aqueous phase kept at 40 ± 2°C and the process of modification of the solvent injection technique thereof which comprises i) dissolving lipids and Soya lecithin in solvent ether ii) addition of paclitaxel dissolved in dichloromethane to organic phase iii) preparation of hot aqueous surfactant mixture at 40 ± 2°C iv) injecting the lipid into mechanically stirred water with or without emulsifier at 40± 2°C v) homogenization of the mixture at 20000 rpm for 1 hr vi) lyophilization of dispersion for 24 hours.
