DEVELOPMENT OF DIAGNOSTIC KIT CAPRINE PLEUROPNEUMONIA FOR FIELD USE

The diagnostic kit of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri is developed for field diagnosis of Caprine Pleuropneumonia. The caprine pleuropneumonia is a dreaded disease of goats and prevalent in most of the states of our country. It causes a great economic losses due to high mortality and morbidity. It contained the coloured antigen, positive and negative sera controls. The coloured antigen was prepared using the Indian strain of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri and coloured by adding the Rose Bengal dye and finally, add merthiolate as a preservative. A 25 ul antigen is sufficient to carry out the one test. The diagnostic kit is very simple and the test can be carried out at field diagnostic centers and even at the veterinary hospitals with in 2-3 minutes. The kit will be helpful in future to save the goat population of the country by diagnosing the disease at the appropriate time.
