A PROCESS FOR PREPARING A DECONTAMINATING AGENT FROM THE PLANT MORINGA PTERYGOSPERMA/OLIFERA FOR DECONTAMINATING PROTEINACEOUS FOOD PRODUCTS LIKE MEAT, FISH AND EGG.
Decontaminating agents like CH3COOH, honey, catechin, NaCL solution and the like have been in use for enhancing shelf life of meat and fish, but no such agent of plant origin has so far been used. the present invention relates to a process for preparing a decontaminating agent "Nutribactrin" comprising pterygospermin and alkaloid spirochin from the plant Moringa pterygosperma/Olifera for decontaminating proteinaceous food products like meat, fish and egg, which comprises- (a) treating selected and cleaned parts of the aforesaid plant with H2O2, (b) washing the treated parts with multiple distilled water, (c) collecting the wash liquids from steps (a) and (b) and drying the same, (d) preserving the dried extracts in presence of anti-oxidants from vegetative sources like gallic acid in predetermined amounts.
